By Dustin L. Dyer

There is some subject matter that I have remained silent about for a while. But what I have realized is that for me to remain silent is not doing God, myself, or anyone whom He is trying to reach any good.  I will just come out and say it. What I am talking about is the subject of homosexuality.

Please understand that I am only writing this to pass along the truth in love. Jesus instructs us as believers to be bold in teaching and in passing on the Word of God but He also says and most importantly to do it in LOVE.

According to the Bible the practice and the act of homosexuality is a SIN. The practice of homosexuality is something God has never accepted and continues not to accept. Please understand these are not my ideas and these are not man's ideas, this is what God has given to us in His Word.

There are many verses that deal with this, I won't list them all but below are a few. If you wish to inquire further check out these verses own your own, Genesis 19:1-11, Judges 19:16-24, 1 Kings 14:24, 1 Kings 15:12, 2 Kings 23:7, 1 Timothy 1:8-10, Jude 7

Here are the verses I do have written out.
Leviticus 20:13
If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination.

(some will claim this is referring to male prostitutes)

Leviticus 18:22
You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination

The next passage in the book of Romans speaks strongly because as you read it you can see the image of America.

Romans 1:18-32 (Pay close attention to verses 26 and 27)
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them

1 Corinthians 6:9-11
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,(KJV is worded "nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind") 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

I know this is hard for some to hear and even after reading this many will still try and justify the practice of homosexuality. Many will still attempt to find things that they believe make homosexuality right in God's eyes but it just isn't true. DO NOT get things confused, GOD LOVES THE HOMOSEXUAL JUST AS HE LOVES ALL OF US THAT SIN. GOD HATES THE SIN, NOT THE SINNER.

Now as believers I know many of us struggle with this because it has become more common in our nation and in the world as a whole. But as a believer you must ask yourself this question... Is it right for me to be a Christian and support this life style?? Think hard about this, do not compromise your faith because of what is being said and done around you. The Lord is very clear on compromise. Don't give in to the ways of this world.

We as believers Love others no matter what and we as believers are sinners like everyone else. But as believers we realize that we cannot compromise our faith and we cannot compromise the Word of God just because we fear offending someone. We Love everyone and want everyone to take part in what God has for us and it is for this reason we have to be bold.

Homosexuality is a sin just like any other sin. But ALL SINS MUST BE REPENTED. FORGIVENESS MUST BE SOUGHT OUT. A person who practices homosexuality and believes it to be O.K. in God's eyes will automatically feel that there is no need to repent or seek forgiveness for this particular sin. If we die in our sins, have we not committed the unpardonable sin?? Because if we knowingly practice homosexuality and claim to be born again, and claim to have excepted and received the Holy Spirit, HOW CAN IT BE POSSIBLE TO STILL BE ENSLAVED TO THIS SIN IN WHICH WE DO NOT BELIEVE WE NEED REPENTANCE OF????? My friends this is called taking the Word of God and molding it into what we need it to be and not what it actually is, in other words we are trying to transform the Word of God to meet our own sinful needs. How can you ask for forgiveness when you don't believe forgiveness is required for what you are doing??

There are many different sources out there that attempt to prove that God and the Bible does not disprove homosexuality. They're folks out there that will claim David and Jonathan had a homosexual relationship. They claim Christian teachers are taking certain words like "Malakoi" and "Arsenokoitai" out of context. These words are translated different ways by different people, however there can only be one true meaning of these words. I will let you research these things for yourself and draw your conclusion.

But I will say this, there is no doubt in our world we have people who are born with many different birth defects, disorders, and medical conditions of all sorts both mental and physical. I do believe in the possibility that people can be born with a lack of things perhaps the majority have. Do I believe people are born gay? I would have to say, I am in no position to say yes or no and neither is anyone else. I believe God knows each individual heart and mind and understands each of our struggles no matter what it is.
However I do believe the Bible is clear on same sex intercourse.

I leave you with this....
The flesh without God's guidance knows NO limits... When the flesh is not put in check it will lead us to certain death. The Lord Loves us all and wants all of us to come to Him but He will not force us. He gives us the guide lines and informs us what will happen if we choose not to obey but He gives us free choice while we are here on this earth. My friends, choose wisely..... I pray that the Lord will speak to you. And please know that I do not look down on anyone, I am not perfect and I seek forgiveness on a regular basis. I humble myself before you and I speak boldly because God loves you and so do I.
